Versatility

The purpose of the Versatility program is recognizing dogs that are shown in conformation and qualify in at least 2 of the performance events at the BSCA National Specialty. Versatility ribbons will be awarded to each qualifying dog.  The dog with the highest performance points will the win the annual BSCA Versatility Dog award.

Participants in the Versatility program must sign up BEFORE the closing date of the regular class entries.

ONLINE ENTRY ONLY Enter using the Specialty Performance Awards Form  

The handlers are responsible for entering all qualifying scores in the performance notebook by 5pm Wednesday during the Specialty.

Information will be provided in the Premium list and/or Specialty Information Booklet and/or on the BSCA Web Site, so sufficient “participant” rosettes are available.

To Participate:

  1. Dogs must be entered and shown in at least two of the six AKC performance events at the National Specialty – Obedience, Rally, Tracking, Herding, Agility, and/or Scent Work.
  2. Dogs must be entered and shown in a regular, non-regular or sweepstakes conformation class. Dogs that are “excused” or “disqualified” from participation in any event, not including normal “non-qualifying scores” in performance events, will be disallowed/excused from further Versatility Award competition and participation for that year’s award.

Annual Versatility Dog Award.

  1. Awarded to the participate with highest performance points.     SEE CHART BELOW
  2. Dogs that qualify in more than one class in the same category of the six AKC performance events may count only the higher class or score.
  3. Ties will be broken by awarded/adding in, tie-breaking points – see the chart for point schedule with the exception of – any dog that qualifies in all SIX venues, regardless of level or point value will be awarded the trophy. In case of a tie, the dog who qualifies in all SIX venues, in the higher class will be awarded the trophy.
  4. HT will not count in a tie-breaker.
