National Specialty Guidelines – Section B Agility
Section B Agility Chairperson
The agility chairperson is responsible for the agility trial. This includes but is not limited to:
Prepare a budget for the agility trial and coordinating with the Show Treasurer to make a recommendation on entry fees to the Show Chairman and ultimately the Board.
Work with the Treasurer to provide information needed to complete the AKC event application.
Inform the trophy chair of the classes to be offered and the need for ribbons & rosettes and other trophies.
Recommends judges to the Board. Once judges are approved, contacts judges to negotiate contract, executes contract.
Works with Show/Site Chairman on selection and securing an appropriate show site for the trial.
Secures the rental of all necessary equipment to support the classes offered. Coordinates pre-trial set-up and post-trial tear-down.
Works closely with these committee chairs to ensure the trial runs smoothly:
Chief Ring Steward – to ensure adequate number of workers;
Trophy Chair – to ensure trophies, ribbons, rosettes are ordered & delivered in a timely manner to the trial.
Hospitality – to arrange for judges needs during the day.
Photography – to coordinate any special requests of the photographer on the day of the trial.
